Industrial Visits

Industrial visits are important in the career of a student who is pursuing MBA courses. Industrial visit provides an insight regarding internal working of Organisation. The theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career. With an aim of going beyond academics, industrial visits provide student a practical perspective on the world of work. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. And industrial visits are minimizing this gap by acting as a bridge between them. Industrial visits are very important for every management student as it provides as clear picture to the managers in the making who have the zeal for a bright future. KICMA conducts regular industrial visit for the management students every year.

Management Fest

In an attempt to bring out the creative potential of young minds, KICMA is hosting national level management fest every year. The fest brings together the finest of management schools from all over the country to vie for victory in an open stage. It also helps the students learn to organise a management programme.

Tutorial System

Young adults nowadays are faced with a number of issues related to academics and otherwise during their student life. They are in need of an outlet to express their emotional upheavals. This is where a faculty counsellor comes into picture. By making the sessions light and interactive, the faculty counsellor creates a favourable environment for the students to facilitate effective communication. Counselling helps the students concentrate better on their studies without getting emotionally drained by other issues. The total students in KICMA were allocated to six faculty members and a tutorial meeting has been held twice in a month. It provides a platform to all students to present their academics and personal issues with the tutor in charge.

Summer Project & Internship

During the fourth semester, every student of MBA programme is required to undertake a project work of problem centered nature under the guidance and supervision of a member of the faculty and the report on the same has to be submitted before the commencement of the fourth semester university examination. An internship gives a preview of the roles, responsibilities and the nature of work that you would be undertaking once you graduate from a business school. It also offers the important opportunity to work closely with professionals in the field, and to develop knowledge, competencies, and experience related directly to your career goals. So with this intention Second Semester Students has to undertake 4 week internship. The institute includes Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Karvy financial services Ltd, The New Indian Express Trivandrum, Acumen Group, and HLL Life care Ltd, HMT Kalamaserry, Hamnet Builders, Coir Board Allepy, Mithranikethan, Malayalam Communications Ltd,and various cooperative societies across Kerala.

Management Development Programmes

Management Development Programme (MDP)

The Management Development Program (MDP) prepares you to become a better leader of your unit, department, or college, as well as a more valuable contributor to broader institutional goals. KICMA CET organizes Management Development Programmes for Sub staff, Ministerial staff and supervisory staff employees of Co-operative sector. KICMACET organized apporoximately 80 training programmes every year in different districts across Kerala.
We also organize specialized Management Development Programme for presidents and governing board members of co-operative organization in the state in order to develop their organising and leadership skills we also offers Faculty Development Programme for Management faculties.

Consultancy

Consulting activity is one of the important means by which we can utilize available knowledge and expertise to government, public sector organisations, community groups and business. Such interactions in turn benefit to the institute as staff bring back their teaching, research and other roles the insights, experiences and contacts they have gained as consultants.
KICMA has under taken Feasibility study for opening new branches of Co-operative banks such as Thrissur District Cooperative Bank Ltd (TDCB), Neyyattinkara Primary Co-operative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank(NPACRD),  Amachal Service Co-operative Bank, Trivandrum.
It also undertaken the feasibility study to establish an Ayurvedic Hospital cum Research Centre at Kappumthala, Kottayam under the management of District Co-operative Hospital Society at Kottayam.

KICMA – Reach - A Journal of Management

KICMA publishes a bi-annual journal, KICMA REACH–Kerala University approved Journal of management. The journal provides a forum for researchers’ practitioners and management professionals serving in Government, Industry and Academia to share their experience and findings in the interdisciplinary areas of management. Students will also get the opportunity to publish innovative Business Plans in KICMA REACH
